About us

The Grand Marais Community Development Committee commenced on July 20, 2009, at which time, the first town hall meeting was held.   Local elected official were invited to hear the goals of the GMCD, and issues effecting our community.   Annual meetings continue, allowing citizens to express their concerns on numberous topics; the GMCD has come a long way from its first meeting, and offer our commitment to continue.

At the conception of the GMCD, the main goal was to acquire possession of the old Grand Marais School, and the possibilities of establishing a community park.  However, as time went by, the scope of issues at hand have broadened beyond that of the school. Including:

• Roads

• Drainage

• Water Sanitation

• Local government issues

• Well being of our community

• and more.....
